Steel is by far the most
common material used in the garage door industry by virtue
of the fact that it is the least expensive option.
Styles
available in steel include vertical, horizontal and chevron
ribbed as well as ‘Georgian’ panelled, together

Timber doors are for those who prefer to use natural materials and who are prepared
to maintain the door with proprietary stains, and modern coatings are both
easier to apply and have a far longer life than older style paints and varnishes.

GRP doors are made of
a tough, flexible and durable material broadly similar
to that used for the manufacture of speedboats and sport
cars.
It requires very little maintenance in addtion
to the occasional wipe down. The manufacturing process
enables the incorporation of finely moulded detailing
features and a high quality finish. Using fine timber
moulds creates authentic timber grain finishes.

These are garage doors that open in a traditional outwards
manner. This style may suit traditional homes. Side
Hung Doors are available in GRP, Timber and Steel.

The
canopy door is the simplest and most common type, the
name being derived from the fully opened door, which
protrudes externally overhead to form a canopy.
It offers maximum clear passage
width and is easy to install with no protruding tracks
inside the garage. |

Fully
retractable doors invariably retract fully into the garage
leaving little or no part protruding although the lifting
arms can create a small reduction in the clear passage.
The
mechanism is the standard on double garage doors and
is ideally suited to use with electric operators.
There are specially designed retractable gears, which
can eliminate the loss of width at standard wing mirror
height , available on some of the smaller doors. |

The
Roller Shutter door opens vertically upwards and rolls
up above the door opening giving you maximum usage
of your garage roof space. Like the sectional you can
use the space immediately in front of the garage door
to park your car and is also ideal for garages with
a short drive and for houses, which front the pavement.
This door does not come in manual form. It forms a
tighter roll than the roller doors. Roller Shutter
doors can be purchased in either an uninsulated single
skin steel or a insulated aluminium slat and come in
a choice of colours.

Doors are constructed of horizontally ribbed steel, finished
in a low mantenance plastisol colour. Capable of being either
manual or automated. This door occupies more headroom than
the Roller Shutter.

Sectional
doors are available in either single skin or double
skin insulated versions in steel or in exclusive wood
(Nordic Pine and Hemlock) sectional garage doors can
be bought with matching side doors.
The sectional door opens vertically upwards and across the garage roof on tracks.
This is a great advantage since you can use the space immediately in front of
the garage door to park your car.
Sectional doors are ideal for garages with
a short drive and for houses, which front the pavement. This door offers
maximum security and insulation, and can , in many
situations offer greater headroom.
